01/02/2006 - Magazine year X - Num 1 - feb/may 2006

One last fitting and heartfelt tribute to the Turin 2006 Olympic Winter Games. With the spotlights now on a sporting event that will be followed by billions of people around the world, our hope, as Turinese and as entrepreneurs of a Piedmont that has been able to transform itself radically without too much distress, is, “May the best athletes win!”

As for us, we have already achieved our goal: endowing the city, right on schedule and in line with expectations, with its first luxury five-star hotel, the Golden Palace, bringing an important historic building dating from the post-war period back to life. A challenging experiment, for THI and all the partners involved, that represents an important stage in our company’s growth. So our “post-Olympics” has already begun, replete with new ideas and projects, new strategies and endeavours.

The next one, patterned after what has been so successfully achieved in Turin, will bring us to open in Genoa, by 2007, an elegant five-star in the historic former headquarters of Ilva, the Italian iron and steel giant. In keeping with that rule of “reconversion” that appears to have become part of our philosophy.

A choice that sets us apart, without any magic wands but with the strength of experience, and reliable partners bent on looking ahead along with us.

Beyond the accomplishment of the Olympics.
