21/12/2007 - A Michelin Star for the Principe Cerami Restaurant of Taormina
The famed Michelin Guide has honoured the Principe Cerami Restaurant, the gourmet realm of the San Domenico Palace Hotel in Taormina, a member of the prestigious Turin Hotels International hotel chain and of the Locali Storici d’Italia association, assigning it a coveted star in its 2008 Guide.
An atelier of haute cuisine open in the evening, looking out onto the sea and nestled in a warm, caressing atmosphere made of soft lights and elegant colour schemes, the Principe Cerami Restaurant is named after the Sicilian nobleman who came into possession of the Dominican monastery in 1896 and converted it into a hotel.
The cuisine unites the flavours and aromas of the authentic Sicilian gastronomic tradition with the local products of the area, proposing creative and innovative dishes realised with the inspiration and expertise of Massimo Mantarro, the San Domenico Palace’s Executive Chef since 2003.
The Principe Cerami Restaurant, already the recipient of important awards in the past thanks to its much-appreciated cuisine and an attentive philosophy of hospitality, is open from April to October and welcomes its select guests during the summer months on its panoramic terrace overlooking the San Domenico’s venerable formal garden, offering a magnificent view of the bay that sweeps as far as Etna. Open for the holidays from 28 December through 6 January.
