In discovery of curiosities and anecdotes of the San Domenico Palace
The walls of the San Domenico Palace in Taormina have seven centuries of history to tell. Starting from 1374, when the friar Girolamo de Luna, a nobleman with Catalan origins, founded the first nucleus of the monastery that has now become a hotel.
A hermitage for meditation, later expanded and enriched thanks to the legacy of the baron Damiano Rosso, a descendent of the Altavilla family, whose marble bust is located at the bottom of the great stairs rising from the cloister to the floor above.
This is the starting point for the guided tours of the San Domenico Palace, which from late April to the end of October allow guests to discover curiosities and anecdotes about the place where they are staying.
An initiative that has kindled great interest.
