The hill of Cioccaro
Cioccaro di Penango, where our relais is located, is an ideal stopping point for the first trips, when the sun begins to shine with tepid warmth and the mists begins to rise, and instead of making for the popular Langhe the visitor can choose to embark on a trip along the hill crests which, from the River Po, span the vineyards and fields beyond Superga. Soon they brush the borders of Asti, entering the folds of the Basso Monferrato, part the extensive Monferrino lands, independent fief of the Aleramo until 1708, when it became part of the domain of the Savoia.
