PLAYS OF LIGHT IN OLD AND NEW TURIN
BAROQUE SPLENDOURS A hundred and forty-four lamps, once candles, mounted on sumptuous baroque chandeliers, light up the rooms of the Cambio as if it were daytime. The sparkling lights and glittering rock crystal are reflected in the mirror-bedecked walls, creating a play of reverberations and a series of perspectives that amplify the real perception of space and entrance the observer.
MODERN ENCHANTMENT A precious furnishing in the architecture of any period, the chandelier also conquers modern design, as witnessed by the impressive “illuminating cloud” of needle-like shafts conceived by Carlo Mollino and designed by Gino Sarfatti for the nearby Teatro Regio.
