U - Unity of Italy

HISTORY ON A FORK

THE NEW ITALY The dissemination of liberal ideas in nineteenth-century Turin marks the start of a far-reaching political and cultural transformation that would shape the destiny of Italy and the centuries-long fortunes of the Cambio.

PARLIAMENT AT THE CAFÉ From the first sessions of the Subalpine Parliament in 1848 to the proclamation of Italian unity and the opening of the Italian Parliament in 1861, the Cambio hosted the greatest names of the Risorgimento and the most illustrious deputies and ministers of the Kingdom, who would arrange to meet here to continue the political debate at table.
