O - Gold and stuccowork
A LIGHT, MEASURED BAROQUE
ENDURING ELEGANCE The richly decorated dining rooms are a study in eighteenth-century aesthetics: walls covered with cream-coloured wood, gilt mouldings and inlays of rare harmony, stucco ceiling roses that set off noble chandeliers, slim columns of inlaid wood surmounted by golden yellow capitals delineate a play of bas-reliefs that gives the rooms an effect of scenic depth and soft movement.
CAPTURE TIME An indispensable detail: the French clock that dominates the Cavour room, surrounded by a sinuous gilt wood frame with leafy patterns.
