P - Piazza Carignano

A BAROQUE JEWEL IN THE HEART OF THE CITY

THE PALACE Residence of the Princes of Carignano starting in 1679, then the seat of the Subalpine Parliament and later of the first Italian Parliament, it delimits and characterises the architectural profile of the square with its curvilinear facade of exposed bricks, typical of the majestic buildings of Turinese baroque.

DUELLING STYLES The imposing Theatre, of a rationalist bent, stands across from the Cambio with its elegant boxwood-enclosed outdoor dining area. The exterior, adorned with a cascade of lamps, is painted the characteristic “Turin yellow”, against which the black lunettes of the signs, written in gold lettering, stand out.
